23/52 - Was that Rum you put in my bottle?

You wiggle and turn yourself around in circles whenever you're in your crib or on the floor. I still am surprised to see you laying a different direction or two feet away from your blanket if I leave the room for a couple minutes.
I've increased your solids to twice a day because you refused the bottle but we're still acting hungry.. and you chomped down a whole 2 oz of solids! Piggy Boy! hee hee.. Pretty soon we will have tried all the basics and I can start making your food.
5/22 you finally rolled yourself over from back to tummy and back again! My Rolie Polie Olie!
OH and you absolutely love Sweet Potatoes!!
And I pretended you were a girl for about five minutes. :)
Your motor skills are improving greatly, you now can hold your bottle for a few minutes until you decide it's a toy and start playing with it. In the excersaucer you turn yourself around grabbing all the toys. You love the chewy blocks! It's fun watching you chomp 'em.
This week I don't think you've kept your tongue in your mouth for longer than five minutes at a time.. you stick it out at everyone! Goofy boy!

22/52 - Mom's LIL Romeo

Busy week full of milestones!! You're officially FIVE months old!
We went to the Zoo for the 1st time with Auntie Monica and Nick! And her brother Greg..
You started eating solids!! This is the third time I've tried, you really enjoyed it. Peaches and Rice cereal. At the end of the week I introduced Peas.. you were NOT a fan. I must say I did laugh at all the disgusted faces you made, after gagging down a couple bites your hands flew up, knocked the bowl out of my hand and it splattered everywhere! haha.. it was a riot! I also introduced the sippy cup for you to get used to. It's just a really fun toy for now.
Lots of Great Big Belly Laughs! For no apparent reason at all. Also I taught you how to play yell / scream.. you like practicing and finding your voice.
You're almost rolling over onto your tummy... you get sooo close then flop to your back.
You've started hitting.. yourself in the tummy, anyone that holds you. Such a violent little boy!! :)
I've been trying my best to soothe your eczema. I think I may have found the right combination, warm oatmeal bath and eucerine calming cream. We'll see in a couple weeks. Then maybe I won't have to put socks on your hands at night to keep you from scratching... er tearing you head apart!

21/52 - Our 1st Mother's Day.

wow. This past week you've become quite the little man. You now reach out for things you want, people (nick), toys and of course your milk, you are starting to use the "milk" sign not exactly in context I don't believe but it's a start. Each time I give you the bottle your hands automatically rise up to hold it, though your motor skills aren't quite there yet. If left on your own the bottle will go flying.
You have perfected raspberries. Which has resulted in you wearing a bib most days.. drooly boy!
You've also been laughing quite a bit more and grabbing those little pigs!
We went on our first vacation together. To your Great Auntie's, we stayed 5 days. You were pretty good the whole time, though you still get a bit of cabin fever if we stay inside most the day. The first night was pretty rough mostly because I think you were overstimulated on top of coming down with a cold and teething.
We visited Great Grandma, Grandpa Keith and Robbie came over to hold you for a bit. And for the first time I got to dip your little toes in the Pacific Ocean! You loved it just as much as I thought. My little water baby.
On our way home we stopped in Satsop to visit my father, the first time I've taken you to meet him. I'm thankful for all the sunshine we got while we were away!!

20/52 - whatchu doin?!

This week you've pretty much just been perfecting all the skills you've learned thus far.
rolling, grabbing feet / toes, grabbing and chewing on everything, getting steadier at sitting / standing and holding your bottle.  You can almost turn yourself all the way around in the excersaucer. Hung out in the Johnny Jump Up for the first time.. you like spinning yourself around.  You're pretty cute kid.
Somehow you've figured out how to suck in your bottom lip.. it's such a funny face.  I gotta get a photo of it!
I'm no longer working.  We've been spending everyday together while I'm hunting for a new job.

He puts the blanket there.. I'm constantly moving it away.

You were playing and talking to your dinosaurs while I was brushing my teeth.  When I finished it was quiet, I went to check on you and this is what I found.

19/52 - Rolie Polie Olie!

Wow this has been a fun week! First off you found your feet! I was changing your diaper, reached down for a new one and up your feet went straight into your hands! You figured out how to stick your tongue out, repeatedly. Went to your four month baby well check, you're at 15lbs 15.5oz and 24 3/4" long! You're over 2 feet tall.. YAY baby! They gave you 2 pokes. I don't like the poke nurse, she's brutal. And for the finale, you rolled your chubby self over from tummy to back again & again as I rolled you back.
Gramma plays a game with you, she calls it Pointer Finger. She puts her pointer finger out and touches your pointer finger. She's been doing this for a couple weeks now, you've figured it out! She points her finger and you reach up with yours to touch the tip of it! My Boy Genius!! Your fine motor skills are definitely improving.
We went down to visit with Monica and Nick. I of course forgot the camera, monica got some good photos.. I gotta get them from her!
Yea he sure does take after me.

18/52 - I love you.

During your eighteenth week of life -
You've been learning how to move each finger separately, sleeping in your bed more often at night, while wearing 12 month jammies,  turning yourself in the excersaucer, getting a tablespoon of rice cereal in your night time bottle and drinking pear or white grape juice once a day to help your on going battle with pooping.

17/52 - He loves his Mama!

I don't have to do anything but just be there and this child loves me with all of his heart.  It is truly the most amazing thing I've ever experienced.
During your seventeenth week of life -
Practicing holding your bottle more.  Working on your hi, ma and hoo sounds.  smile, laugh and coo in conversations with me and others.  Wow Wow Wubbzy has become your favorite TV show!  We really if the tv is on you immediately focus in on it.  Definitely monitoring the amount of time you spend in front of it!  Your personality is coming out more and more.  It seems you might just be a little jokester after all.. your serious demeanor seems to be a part of the whole show.

 Finally bigger than the cat!

16/52 - a year later.

During you sixteenth week of life -
You started teething!  Which means tooooons of drool and chewing on your fingers.  Grabbing and picking up your toys, bringing the directly into your mouth!  Taking baths in the big bath tub.  You love all the water!  I can't wait to take you swimming!!  Wearing 12 mos onesies.  Trying to roll over from your back to tummy.. you can get all the way onto your side but get stuck on your arm.  I've got a video of it.  You also spent the entire weekend at Gramma's while I worked.
It's amazing the changes that have occurred in just a years time.  When I start to think about them all it is a bit overwhelming to say the least.

15/52 - Bouncy Boy!

I actually didn't take this photo.  Cousin Laura did while they (Auntie Cindy, Laura, Crystal and Barbie) were babysitting.   Grandma had surgery (3/29) on her leg again to remove a cyst that had grown back.  We asked them to come up to help Mama out with you and Kyle.  You definitely seemed happy enough to be around some new faces!
I missed two days of work to stay home with you while you were sick, we cuddled, slept and watched a lot of One Tree Hill.  I managed to get a few chores done as well.
I had to exchange your swing, I'm still not sure what happened to the first I think the motor went out but they were kind enough to make the switch.  You still like to take naps in it but at night you've been sleeping with Mama more and more.
The biggest milestone this week.. you've been trying so hard to master holding your bottle.  It's amazing I've never seen a three month old do that before.  You've almost got it but you're still trying to fine tune those motor skills so it gets away from you.  Pretty soon though you'll have it down!  I've been showing you the sign for milk and referring to your bottle as such, I'm looking forward to the day that you can tell me that's what you want.
Sleep has been pretty good, the days you have daycare you sleep until 5am the following morning because you don't nap.  Far too interested in watching the kids play I'm sure.  Mama doesn't mind though.

14/52 - Sick Boy, Again.

lets see.. we celebrated your Grandma's 44th birthday.  Did a bit of thrifting / shopping, we found an awesome book shelf for all the books I've been collecting and the best find!  A toy box for $10.  It needs new paint and I'm gonna add your name letters to the front.  I love it!
You now fit into nine month size clothing so I washed up all I had stored away.  It's amazing how big you've gotten.
We got a new roommate, she's a Grandma and you seem to love her already!  I also applied at a local technical college to get my LPN / RN that way I can take better care of us.
Over the course of the week you've been adding to all your skin issues.  Your eye slime turned yellow / green, your face and body turned into a rash, it looks like you've got a case of thrush in your mouth and I believe the bronchiolits is back.  I took you in to see the doc and Mama was right about everything.  You weigh 14lbs 8.5 oz.  He gave us 3 prescriptions and sent us on our way.  I'm glad you take meds well.
You've been reaching out and grabbing at your toys.  Interacting with people more and the soy formula seems to be a lot easier on your tummy.  Now I just gotta get you pooping...

13/52 - So Big!

I dug the excersaucer out of storage the other day, washed it up last night and this morning after your bath I put you in it to play for the first time!  You loved it.. I think you actually stayed entertained for almost 45 mins, long enough for me to bake Gramma's Birthday Cake!

During your 13th week of life, things have been much better.. I switched you to soy based formula since you were still having bowel issues.  You've been angel ever since, I feel pretty bad that for the last 3 months you've probably been having belly aches and that's what was making you cry.  I'm sorry little one.  One morning this week I bent over to pick you up, your little hand when straight up and started scratching the top of your head.  It seems you have a case of baby eczema.  I've read about california baby products, I decided to try out their super sensitive baby wash and also the lotion.  Within two days your skin has much improved!  That stuff is amazing, as we've been battling this crap for nearly 3 months. You're in a pretty good routine.  You sleep well at night and take 1 or 2 fairly long naps during the day.  Daycare seems to like you more as well.. ;D  Screaming babies are hard to deal with.
A SAD thing this week... your swing died.  I'm not sure if it was the motor or what but I fully intend of exchanging it.  You've only been using it three months, it shouldn't be dead already!!
I handed you some ring links with a chewy attached, you held on to them sucking and licking 'em for about 20 minutes.  My little one is starting to play with toys.  I can't believe how fast you are growing.  I've also witnessed you reaching out to grab objects, it is so hard for you to get your arm to cooperate but you are very patient with yourself.

12/52 - Nick's Catching UP!

After all the sickness, your butt didn't want to work.  We made our first 3am trek (3/2) to winco for dark karo syrup in hopes of helping you out.  No go.  At 10am you were still miserable.  We went to target, I bought everything they have to make a kid poop, plus everything for coughs / colds and sore teeth.  Hopefully I can avoid another 3am run!
Wednesday (3/3) you went back to daycare and I went back to work, they aren't very happy with me missing so many days but I had the doctors note they requested!
By Friday Mama was sick, so I got to have a stay home day.
You're beginning to become quite interested in your hands, placing them on your bottle during feedings, sucking.. well licking them as a form of comfort and even rubbing your eyes when you start to get sleepy.
Today we hung out with Monica and Nick, thrifting and what not.  I can't believe how big Nick has gotten in just the past 2 weeks.  He's only a pound behind you now!  I can't wait for the day when you two start playing.  I'm sure they're will be many fights over toys as well.

11/52 - Sick Boy

Yesterday (2/28) you made your very first trip to the emergency room.
Well Friday (2/26) you were beginning to get a bit wheezy, we went in for your 2 month baby well check and shots (3!) Doc said you've got the beginnings of bronchiolitis.  You also weigh 13.8 pounds!!  Saturday you got a bit worse and Sunday morning when you woke, not only we're you coughing but puking.  I noticed you we're breathing quite rapidly and it seemed difficult for you to get any air.  Off to the hospital we went, your oxygen levels were at 88 when we arrived.  They gave you a breathing treatment, steroids and sent us home with an inhaler. Oi!  At least you seem to be getting better as we went to the doc again today.
Now you're constipated. haha.  I'm sorry, kid.
I finally got your bed set!!  yay!  I've also been picking up books at the thrift stores, you're starting to get quite the collection.  OH!  You also wore your very first 9 mos outfit!!  I can't believe it!!!

10/52 - Dreaded Daycare!

mama's handsome lil' man!

Notice the bubble on his lip!! Bubble Boy.. I dunno that's just been your thing this week. Your biggest milestone though... DAYCARE! ugh. And by the end of the week you're already coming down with your first case of the sickies.

09/52 - I can't believe you're already 2 months old!

During your ninth week of life:

We saw Monica and Nick twice!  Mmm.. zoopas so yummy!  I can't wait until you two are old enough to actually play and interact with each other.  We also had a WIC appointment afterward we walked around walmart for nearly 3 hours because I didn't feel like sitting at home.  Plus you were taking a nap in your sleepywrap and I didn't want to disturb you.
We spent Valentine's Day thrifting with your Uncle Kyle.  I know it's weird now that your uncle is only 5 years older than you but I think it would be far more confusing if we called him your brother or cousin... so we'll just say it like it is.  One day it'll all make sense, Promise!
On a side note- I go back to work tomorrow.  Which means it's gonna be your first day at daycare.  I'm nervous for you.  I'm a little bit more comfortable because you'll be going with Kyle and Holly helped deliver you, I know you're in good hands.  Holly's husband pretty much runs the daycare while she works as an RN.  It was all a coincidence that she ended up being a part of your delivery.  But a blessing all the same.
OH yes!  Your Bumbo arrived!!  I decided to try it out because you have such great neck control already.. Gramma again said you're too young.. but you just had to prove her wrong!  First time I put you in it.. I got a big giant smile!  I think it's a winner.

(I do have to get a better photo!)

such a ham!!

Mama's Favorite!!  I love you little man!

OH YES!  Your fuzzi bunz arrived too.  I can't wait to get them on your cute lil butt!

08/52 -TOYS!

During your eighth week of life:
Gramma says you are still too little. Mama says you're amazing!
This is has been the week of the "hamster", you FINALLY sooth yourself with your hands. Yes both of them in true rodent fashion. Thus your newest nickname... Hamster!

It's hard to capture a shot of the hamster.

07/52 - Happy Birthday!

Today is my 25th Birthday and you are 7 weeks old!

Your seventh week of life:

The biggest milestone you achieved this week SMILING!  Lots of smiles and spontaneous giggles! You've always been alert from the day you were born but this week you became aware a bit more of your surroundings.  You like to be held facing out that way you can observe the big world around you.  Which is a very good thing, not only are you learning and filling your ever expanding brain with knowledge.  You aren't crying nearly as much, now it's pretty much just when you want to eat or if you're tired.  You've been talking / babbling a bit more and interacting.  It's amazing you're starting to grow into this little person and less of a screaming lump!  Mommy's proud!
The Doc upped my zoloft and it has made a huge difference!!  Plus you've decided to nap again, well for a couple days.  You actually took a 3 hour nap on tuesday and I was able to sand & paint a bookshelf and dresser that I've been trying to accomplish since November.  I was very pleased!
My w-2 finally came.. $5385 we're getting back!  You are gonna be getting your bed set finally and a nice big order of fuzzi bunz plus all the goodies to go with wet bag, rockin' green laundry detergent, 1 dz prefolds and 2 thirsties covers, bum wash and I think that's about it!  I think I'm also gonna pick up a bumbo seat for you.  I'm pretty sure you'll make good use of it.
Duracell batteries last the longest in the swing!  Everything else dies twice as fast.
You started drinking from 8oz bottles.  :(  You're getting so big!  OH.. and while I was burping you yesterday I couldn't figure out why you smelt so bad.  I looked at your neck.. you've got some kind of yeasty rash brewing.  We're going to the Doc tomorrow to help that out.  My stinky bread boy.
Gramma got you your first rocking chair(s)!  I love them!  And they were an excellent price, as always!
I ordered your sleepywrap finally.. it should be here in a couple days.  I can't wait to wear you and have 2 hands again!
Well I hear your yells that it's feeding time again.  Until next week!  Mama loves you very much!

hee hee..

06/52 - 6 weeks!

During your sixth week of life...

We've been battling cradle cap or what I like to call cradle crap.  So far I think we are winning.  We went to see your Auntie Carrie, she's the one that took all the photos of your birth. I hope that she has a special place in your life always & forever.  The biggest milestone you achieved this week you finally became a fluffy butt!  I love cloth and cannot wait to get your supply of fuzzi bunz!
As of 01/20 you weigh 10lbs 8oz & you're 21 1/4" long!  That was done at the WIC office, yay for 9 free cans of formula a month.  When you get to be six months old they'll start giving you 34 jars of baby food a month along with your formula.  I can't wait to start offering you foods and making your own homemade yummies!  I've found a few awesome baby food recipes that I want to make for you, I'm praying you won't have any food allergies.
This week you've pretty much decided that you weren't going to take ANYTHING longer that a five minute cat nap.  If you were put down immediately you'd wake.  Or if the bottle was removed from your little always hungry chomper, EYES OPEN!  On the flip side, at night you've been doing 4 to 5 hour stretches.  So I'm trying not to complain.
Postpartum Depression (PPD) has hit me pretty hard.  I've already been taking zoloft for the past 2 years and it was very surprising to me because I've never had depression / anxiety come thru before.  My six week check up is tomorrow, so we'll see what they'll do for me.
On Sunday Gramma babysat while I took your uncle, my little brother (he's 5 and mom is in the process of adoption, he's been with us for nearly 2 years now) to the movies for his excellent behavior at school!  We saw "Where the wild things are"  and we both loved it!  I'm excited for the future and being able to do those sort of things with you.
Overall it's been a rather stressful week for both of us, I'm hoping next week will be better.

My lil turtle!  I'm so glad you're growing lips.

05/52 - 5 weeks!

Mommy's lil Monkey
(you can't see it in this photo but you have a monkey tee and slippers on ;D)

During your fifth week of life:

Goodness you've been asleep nearly all day! You wake to eat and once to poo. I'm hoping that won't upset our night to come?! This week has been quite eventful! You took your first trip to the Ocean to meet your Great Grandma! We also stopped to see Auntie and her family. They all loved you. The biggest comment / compliment you received was about how strong you are. Next was how awake and alert and of course how handsome you are!
That night you stayed with Grandma over night for the first time. Mama slept for 12 hours straight!
You also got to meet your second friend Dominick. My friend Monica's son who was born on the 5th of this month. He's only 5 pounds.. you are a giant compared to him!
We hung out with Uncle Sean, twice actually. I've been having a rough time dealing with depression / anxiety. I am looking forward to my six week check up, hopefully I can get my meds straightened out.
You are just growing rapidly before my eyes! Every time you stretch I think you grow and inch. (you wear all 3mos clothing now and starting to fit into some 3/6mo things) You are becoming more and more verbal. And you definitely aren't afraid to let anyone and everyone know when you're upset. You take the prize for the loudest kid in the grocery store, hunny. Mommy loves you anyway you are!

Super Baby O!

Hanging out in his crib, that he's never slept in.
